Pulina Federico

Piano

Federico Pulina (1995) is an Italian pianist and teacher based in Luzern. He performs solo and chamber music recitals.

Federico began studying piano at the age of five in the small Civic School of Music in Ploaghe, his hometown. He graduated from the Conservatory “Luigi Canepa” of Sassari with top marks and honors, under the guidance of M° Anna Revel in 2014.  He then studied in the class of M° Davide Cabassi obtaining the second level of Academic diploma with full marks, praise and mention in 2019. In chamber music he studied with Marco Decimo, Luca Moretti and Marco Rogliano. He is currently specializing at the Hochschule of Lucerne with M° Konstantin Lifschitz in the Master Solo Performance. 

In 2011 he made his debut with the orchestra Marija Judina at the Teatro Storchi in Modena and at the Teatro Verdi in Sassari performing Mozart’s Concerto KV 488, under the guidance of Maestro Giovanni Paganelli. In the same year, he was invited to the inaugural concert of the prestigious Palazzo Giordano in Sassari. Since then, he is often invited as soloist and chamber musician in prestigious music festivals in Italy and abroad. Among these are the seasons of the Bocconi University of Milan, Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk, Primavera di Baggio, Kawai a Ledro, Accademia dei cameristi di Bari, Hirzenberg Festival, Kunst Kreis Luzern.

He has won numerous awards in international competitions. Among the most recent ones, the first prize at the Luigi Nono International Music Competition and the first prize at the competition dedicated to the memory of the duo Giangrandi Eggman. Being selected among the finalists of the AEVEA Piano Prize competition, he recorded the complete etudes of F.Chopin in the Maffeiana Hall of Verona.

In August 2020 he has been selected by the academy of chamber musicians of Bari and he will be included in future concert programs of the Academy. In the same month, he has been invited, as the only Italian student, to attend the summer courses of the foundation Theo and Petra Lieven in Vienna meeting masters such as Jean-Marc Luisada, Alon Goldstein, Jura Margulis, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Ferenc Rados and Rita Wagner.

In June 2021 he has made his debut at the KKL concert hall in Lucerne with the Piano Concerto by G. Ligeti accompanied by the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester under the direction of James Gaffigan. The following month he has won the Roscini - Padalino Prize, Brunello and Federica Cucinelli foundation dedicated to the best Italian musicians studying abroad.

In September 2021 his first studio recording was released on the DaVinci Publishing label with Chopin's Op. 25 and the first book of etudes by G. Ligeti.
