Franco Calabretto (born in 1960 in Pordenone, Italy), pianist. He studied under Pia Baschiera Tallon (assistant of Carlo Zecchi), Konstantin Bogino, Marian Mika. He performed in Italy and in Europe as soloist and chamber musician. He has recorded 6 CDs and also many times for the Austrian, Swiss, Slovenian and Italian radios. He is teacher of Chamber Music, and has been the director of the Conservatory of Music in Udine for 10 years; from 2005 to 2013 he has been the artistic director of the “G.Verdi” theatre in Pordenone; from 2014 to 2017 has been the artistic director of MITTELFEST; in 2018 he was president of the Mitteleuropa Orchestra, the orchestra of the Friuli Venezia Giulia.
